Ride through Cusco’s Andean countryside to the Temple of the Moon, with horses, ruins, views, transport, and practical tips.

“This was a fantastic experience and highly recommended for anyone who is okay with riding horses. From hotel pickup to drop off this was probably only ~3.5hrs. There was a solid 2-2.5 hours for the trek which included two stops at Incan ruins. Considering you are only about 25mins outside Cusco you feel like you’re in the Andean countryside. The horses were very well trained and we alternated between walking and a good gallop which was thrilling and a touch jarring. The scenery was majestic and our guide Holger was fantastic.”

Review of Cusco’s Rainbow Mountain horseback tour, with 5200-meter views, meals, guide support, pricing, horses, and practical tips.

“Really so beautiful. Rainbow mountain is pretty, but the surrounding area like red valley really makes this special. Did have a little confusion with pre booking the horse as well. I recommend booking a tour that doesn’t include the horse, and just pay in person. Alfredo supported us, and even offered someone oxygen when they weren’t feeling well. We added red valley last minute and it was so worth it. Food was good too.”
