“First off it doesn't look like a Sanctuary. The animals are in cages and the living areas are quite small. It was only after a caretaker came and showed us around did we learn how abused the animals were prior to being rescued and placed here. For example 2 of the pumas were in Lima at a Disco club and had their teeth and claws removed :( the sanctuary rescued them and actually made dentures for them so they can now eat meat. There are bears, condors, pumas, monkeys, llamas and alpacas as some of the bigger animals to see. One thing to note, if you pay at the Sanctuary…”

“It was my favourite part of the holiday. Our tour guide, Tito, was brilliant. He answered questions and knew plenty about the surrounding areas. You will see plenty of wildlife, but please do not expect to see a wild jaguar or anaconda. It is extremely rare. People have been working in these areas for many years without spotting such animals, and you will only be there for a few days. It is possible, as a group (not mine, unfortunately) did spot a wild Puma while we were there. You will have an activity packed 4 days, and you will love it. I highly recommend this tour company.”

“Excellent trip, husband really enjoyed swimming with the sealions. We were very interested in the local bird population and did manage to see boobys, penguins and pelicans, but our guide was not very knowledgeable on the birds (in English, anyway). Can be a difficult trip with small children. We were warned about the smell at the sealions but it wasn't bad at all.”

“This was a private, curated tour with an expert guide and the only way to actually get to walk through and well into the Pachacamac ruins. Our main guide Diana and driver Michael picked us up in a van at our hotel right on time. The ride was private and very comfortable and also gave us an opportunity to focus on exactly what we wanted. For example we had already been in Peru for a few days and were familiar with the main neighborhoods so we wanted to focus on the Pachacamac ruins and a couple of unique vista points we hadn’t seen. Since it was a private tour they…”
